YONG SON KIMBorn in Incheon, Korea on September 24th 1946, died in Bellevue, Washington on August 22nd 2018, holding the hands of his wife and daughter. He was the oldest son born to Chong Man and Ok Ye Kim. He served 3 years with the Korean Navy, where he met the love of his life, Sang Hye Kim. They immigrated to Oahu, Hawaii on May 31st, 1974. He studied at HCC where he received his degree as a HVAC engineer while working at Hilton Hawaiian Village where he retired after 35 years. In 2010 after retirement, he moved to Bellevue, Washington to be close to his daughter Jenni Kim-Tojio, Son-in-law Wesley Tojio and grandchildren Bradley and Rachel Tojio. He is survived by sisters; Anna Y.H. Kim, Yong Suk Yun, Peggy Y.S. Takushi, Yong Gum Bark, Christina Y.O. Han and brothers; Brian Y.S. Kim and John Y.U. Kim. He joins oldest sister Yong Ye Kim in death. Celebration of Life services at the Valley of the Temples Memorial Park on September 21st, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., with burial at 1pm (47-200 Kahekili Highway, Kaneohe, HI 96744).

Master Sergeant John Recard Puaalaonalani LumDied on 8-18-18. He was born on 10-25-76, and grew up in Kaneohe, graduating from Castle High School, '94. He was a pipe fitter at Hickam AFB. John served in the Marines and the Hawaii Air National Guard. He deployed to UAE, Kuwait, and Afghanistan John is survived by his loving wife, Jaylene Wong Lum, daughters Jaymie Lum, Jeannette-Charloette Lum, and Liberty Lum. Parents John and Karen Kaainoa Lum. Siblings, Joseph (Michele) Lum, Jackie Cuban, and Joyce (Jesse) Okumura. Service will be held on 9-29-18, at St. John Vianney Church, visitation 9:30-10:45, service to follow. Randall Mamoru Sasaki RANDALL MAMORU SASAKI Randall Mamoru Sasaki passed on January 22, 2018 at age 68. Randy was born on October 4, 1949 in Lihue, Kaua'i. Following in his wife's footsteps, Randy was a proud participant in the University of Hawai'i Medical School's Willed Body Donor Program. Predeceased by wife Patricia and mother-in-law Barbara Takata. Randy is survived by his daughter Michelle, son Russell, grandson Conner K. Payes, parents Richard & Aileen Sasaki, sister Laura (Daryl) Noguchi, nephews Ryden & Racyn Noguchi, sisters-in-law Sandy and Pianta and faithful companion Hali'a. JUAN 91 of Waipahu passed away on August 7, 2018, in Honolulu. He served the U.S. Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He retired as Petty Officer 1st Class after 20 years of service. On June 24th, 2018 the U.S. Congress awarded him the Congressional Gold Medal. He is survived by the love of his life Fernanda 'Ferie' Ferrer. They were married for nearly 67 years. She was 73 years old. Lynnette is survived by her sister, Letitia K. (Tish) Holt; husband, Reuben H. Aea; children, Ronpaul E. Aea (Kathleen), Randon K. Aea, Rana NWC Aea; and grand- children Brandee Aea-Medeiros, Keilani Aea-Purnell, Kainoa Aea, Kekoa Aea, and Kawika Aea. Lynnette was a lifetime member of 'Ahahui Ka'ahumanu Chapter 1 of Honolulu since 1984. Joy Keahipuakauikawekiu JOY KEAHIPUAKAUIKAWEKIU MILLS-FERREN Joy passed unexpectedly on August 3, 2018 in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. She was a Lifeguard with the Hawaii County Fire Department, stationed at Kahalu'u and La'aloa Beaches in Kona for the past ten years. Her lifeguard career began in the City and County of Honolulu, Districts II and III in the late 1990's. A Kona paddle-out and service was held on August 25, 2018 for family and friends. The Oahu Lifeguard paddle-out is scheduled for Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Sans Souci (Kaimana) Beach at 7:00 a.m., followed by Visitation and Service at the Volleyball Courts adjacent to the beach, 8:00-11:00 a.m. Survived by mother, Linda Leilani Mills; brother Keo (Debra) of Illinois; sister Yvonne Patcho of Waianae, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
