Henry W. H. Au1926 2018 91, returned to our Lord peacefully at his retirement home on July 24, 2018, with his daughter and son-in-law by his side. He was surrounded by close family and friends from his retirement home during his last days. He was first a businessman and entrepreneur with his first wife Myra Bow. After Myra's passing, he sold their business and worked for Schuman Carriage as a salesman for 30 years. He later married Eleanor Chong and they traveled and enjoyed their retirement years together. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. His grandsons meant everything to him. He was a kind and generous man, always thinking about his family and friends. He helped so many people with his generosity and thoughtfulness. There is a room at the American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge named after Henry and Myra in their honor. In his retirement years, he became an ardent poker player and puzzle master. He is survived by his wife Eleanor C. Au of 42 years, daughter Sandra Au Fong (Marvin), grandson's Nathan Fong (Jeong) and Timothy Fong. Henry was buried with military honors. All services were private.

WILLIAM F. THOMPSON IIIWilliam F. "Buzz" Thompson III, age 87, formerly of Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away in Plymouth, MA on August 24, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Geraldine "Gerry" Fritz Thompson, cherished father of William (Kim), Joseph (Beverly), David (Rhonda), Matthew (Erin), Michael (Anna) and grandfather to 9 grandchildren. He was recently predeceased by his beloved sisters, Helen Ladd Thompson of Honolulu, Hawaii and Frances Lynch (Hal) of Jacksonville, Florida. Buzz was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on October 6, 1930 to parents William F. Thompson Jr. and Helen Niaukololani Antoinette Rosa. William Jr. served as Chief Clerk of the Federal District Court in Honolulu. Helen Rosa was the daughter of Judge Antone Rosa, Attorney General for King Kalakaua and was also the great-granddaughter of William Ladd, co-founder of the first commercial sugar plantation in Hawaii at Koloa, Kauai, in 1835. He was a member of the Outrigger Canoe Club for 73 years and a proud alumnus of Punahou School, where he was a student from kindergarten until graduation in 1949. During his high school years, he was elected student body president, was a member of the football, basketball and track teams and also participated in ROTC and Drama. In 1950, upon completing his first year at Duke University, where he was elected freshman class president, he was invited by President Harry S. Truman to participate in the meeting of the Midcentury White House Conference on Children and Youth in Washington, DC. He later went on to complete his undergraduate degree from the University of Hawaii before earning his Juris Doctorate from Vanderbilt Law School in 1959. Upon his return to Honolulu, he enjoyed a long and successful career as a prominent immigration attorney. He was a tireless champion for the legal rights of his clients and was always quick to mentor and share his wealth of knowledge with his fellow attorneys. In 2001, he and Gerry retired to Plymouth where they enjoyed hosting and visiting their family and friends. Buzz and Gerry recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in February. A Memorial service will take place in Honolulu at Oahu Cemetery at a date to be named later.  Charles Age 67, Charles "Chuck" J. Ferrera, Jr. passed away on August 9, 2018. Born and raised in Massachusetts, Chuck graduated from Oberlin College and later earned his Juris Doctor from Golden Gate University. He made Hawaii his home in 1981 after joining the firm of Schutter, Cayetano, Playdon and Pavey as a trial attorney. He opened his own law practice serving clients in Hawaii and California in 1986. Chuck is survived by his partner Janice P. Kim; mother, Regina A. Ferrera of Milford, MA; sister, Susan F. Fenn and brother-in-law, Ron S. Fenn of Danville, NH; brother, James M. Ferrera and sister-in-law Lydia Kappel, M.D. of Florence MA and their children: Laurel S. Ferrera, Charles B. Ferrera and Michael J. Ferrera, M.D. Chuck was predeceased by his father, Charles J. Ferrera, Sr. M.D. A celebration of Chuck's life will be held on September 26 at Hosoi Garden Mortuary in Honolulu at 30 N.
