Charles “Chuck” J. Ferrera Jr.
Age 67, Charles "Chuck" J. Ferrera, Jr. passed away on August 9, 2018. Born and raised in Massachusetts, Chuck graduated from Oberlin College and later earned his Juris Doctor from Golden Gate University. He made Hawaii his home in 1981 after joining the firm of Schutter, Cayetano, Playdon and Pavey as a trial attorney. He opened his own law practice serving clients in Hawaii and California in 1986. Chuck is survived by his partner Janice P. Kim; mother, Regina A. Ferrera of Milford, MA; sister, Susan F. Fenn and brother-in-law, Ron S. Fenn of Danville, NH; brother, James M. Ferrera and sister-in-law Lydia Kappel, M.D. of Florence MA and their children: Laurel S. Ferrera, Charles B. Ferrera and Michael J. Ferrera, M.D. Chuck was predeceased by his father, Charles J. Ferrera, Sr. M.D. A celebration of Chuck's life will be held on September 26 at Hosoi Garden Mortuary in Honolulu at 30 N. Kukui St. Visitation 5:00 p.m.; Brief program 6:00 p.m.; Fellowship to follow. Maria A. Salviejo died at Queen's Medical Center West on July 30, 2018. She was born in Mindoro, Vigan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines on May 27, 1927. In the Philippines she was a school teacher for 20 years, came to Hawaii and worked at Liberty House where she retired after 25 years. She was preceded in death by her son, Sanford Salviejo. She is survived by daughter Sandra (Robert) Holmes; Grandson Lukas Holmes; Granddaughter Jana (Isaac) Pannell; siblings Flora Lorica and Domingo Altares.
