Charlton “Larry” Larca
Our beloved Charlton "Larry" Larca went home to our Lord on May 21, 2018. Larry was born February 13, 1948 in Lihue Kauai, Hawaii. Larry is survived by his wife Cynthia "Cindy" of Mariposa Ca, son Sean Larca of Chandler Az, daughter Ember Kalama of Fairbanks Ak, and son Kenneth Larca of Norfolk Va, brother Leroy Gabayan of Midlothian Va, and 10 grandkids. Larry has large extended family in Alaska and Hawaii. Larry's wish was that there be no services and that we carry his memory as we move forward in life.

Salvador Solidum, “Sonny”
SALVADOR SOLIDUM, SONNY A free spirited adventurer, independent sojourner, and expert in Aikido went home to our Father at the tender age of 87 on May 7, 2018 at Wahiawa General Long-Term Care Facility leaving behind a legacy of loving-goodness and unconditional generosity to his family. An unwavering patriot and a member of the Brotherhood - St. Louis College Class of 1948 he enlisted after graduation and was assigned to the U.S. Army 34th Division of Photomapping at the height of the Korean Conflict. Upon separation he enrolled in the University of Wyoming where he received his Baccalaureate degree in geology which coupled with his vast mapping military experience garnered him a position at the U.S. Department of Interior Geological Survey in Menlo Park, CA where he retired from the agency's Branch of Geometronics. He traveled across the U.S. creating, charting, and modifying government topography maps which is used today. He returned to Hawaii in 2015 after the demise of his sister, Georgia and lived with his younger sister, Evelyn, until his passing. Sonny is preceded in death by his parents, Narcisso and Sergia Yabo Solidum, his sister Georgia DeRego, and his brother, Florentino Solidum. He is survived by his brothers, James and Elmer Solidum and his sister Evelyn Au. He is also survived by his nephews Arlin, Nathan, and Tobi Solidum, Bobby, Clevis, and Tom DeRego, Elmer, Jr., Roma, Louis, and Kawika Solidum, Michael Richards, Emory and Eric Au; his nieces Kamomi Solidum, Debra DeRego Chauvel, Roxanne Solidum Bruhn, Elisa Solidum Kacir, Yasuko Solidum, Erin Au Martin and his many Pacarro, Suan, and Oliva cousins. He was awarded the Order of Australia Medal for his meritorious achievement in development of the Pineapple industry in Australia through his 50+ year career as the Chief Horticulturist at Golden Circle Cannery. A '44 graduate of Roosevelt High School, he worked for Dole on Oahu and Lanai after serving in the Army and graduating from the University of Hawaii. Inocensia "Cynthia" Sao, passed away peacefully with her family surrounding her at home in Waipahu on May 12, 2018. She was born in Waipahu on October 9, 1932. Cynthia worked 27 years for the Hickam Air Force Exchange Service and retired with numerous awards in 1993. She loved to dance and especially embraced dancing hula. While living in Japan when Hawaii became a State in 1959, her passion for hula was highlighted when she was invited to a celebration in Japan and danced solo for Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko . Cynthia enjoyed jogging and bowling in which over the years she collected a showcase of trophies. She found pleasure in baking desserts for her family & friends to enjoy. She spent many enjoyable & fun days with the grandchildren & great grandchildren teaching them Hawaiian and English songs and Christmas Caroles in Hawaiian. She had composed a few songs of her own. She got a kick out of taking them to the park to teach & play sports with them. Cynthia loved traveling to Las Vegas with her husband during the years of 1975~2018. Cynthia is survived by her husband Abelardo "Steve" Sao; Daughters: Stephanie Woods of West Virginia, Alexis Sao, Scarlet Reardon, and Marlo Meadows; Sons: Irving Pavo, and Kevin Sao of Phoenix, Arizona; Sister: Josephine Doyle of Eureka, Montana & Brother: Fredrick Abordo; 15 Grandchildren; 37 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren. Josephine “Josie” Callahan Woll
77, passed away on May 17th after a long illness in Honolulu. She was born on March 29, 1941 in Vald'or, Quebec, Canada to parents Joseph Callahan and Margaret Sutherland (dec). After graduating high school at age 16, Josie pursued a nursing career at St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Toronto graduating in 1961. She worked as a nurse in California, New York and eventually Hawaii where she met and married the love of her life, David Woll, who predeceased her. She is survived by sons: Jason (Rovette), Kieran (Brenda), and daughter Cassilly; grandchildren: Christian, Raquel, David, Kevin, Donna, Donnie, Stephanie and Stephen; great-grandchildren: Serina, Brooke, Ben, Blake and Brody. Her brothers; Jim (Sherry), Ken (Shirley) Callahan and sister Jackie (Bernie) Goyetche of Canada. In addition to her predeceased husband David, Josie was predeceased by her brother Tommy. Nieces and nephews Mary (Brian) and John, Lynn (Stewart) and Vicki (Martin), Christopher, Christina (Greg) and Charles, Patrick and Ryan Callahan. Sister-in laws Elizabeth and Barbara (Hans), brother- in-laws Ed (Dorie) and John (Doris) Woll. Nieces and nephews Daniel (Emily), Hans (Louise), Judy (Marc), Lauren (Darrin), Andrew (Natalie), Jenny (Kris) and Mary (Ed). She is also survived by numerous grandnephews and nieces and a large extended ohana including Nicki Klock and Kristi Ramia. Josie will be missed by the Iijima family, many friends and former colleagues. After the birth of her daughter with special health care needs, she learned to advocate and improve the healthcare system for other children and their families. Her daughter was enrolled in the early intervention program at the Sultan Easter Seals in Honolulu where Josie volunteered. Upon the retirement of the director, Setsu Furuno, she was asked to fill the position where she worked for 25 years. During the early 1990's, she co-founded with her friends Polly Arango and Julie Beckett, Family Voices, a national grassroots organization working on behalf of children with special heath care needs and their families. Josie was instrumental in establishing a Family Voices chapter in every state which recently expanded to the American territories. She also served on the Hawaii Developmental Disabilities Council for many years. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Pat and Bruce Larson, Georgia Cicmil, Valery O'Brien, Bob and Jean Johnson, Bev Muller of Honolulu and Julie Beckett from Cedar Rapids, Iowa for their assistance and caregiving during Josie's long illness. Richard Cosmer Waldron
RICHARD COSMER WALDRON 87, beloved husband and father and long time Port Angeles resident, passed away on May 17, 2018, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Dick is survived by his wife, Nelda Neuffer, children: Carol Christina Geiger, Kathryn Laura Chambers (Paul), Maggie Villa (Olivier), Carlton Richard Waldron (Carol), step-children: George Alfred Neuffer, Gregg Lawrence Neuffer, Nancy Carol Neuffer, and Gerald Christopher Neuffer, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dick was born on June 19, 1930, in Washington, D.C., and graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in engineering. He retired from Boeing in 1995 and moved to Port Angeles where he enjoyed golfing, caring for his home, and making new friends. After their marriage in 2005, Dick and Nelda split their time between Honolulu and Port Angeles. Dick passed away after a long and valiant struggle against kidney disease. A private memorial service was held in Honolulu. The family encourages those who wish to commemorate him to make a donation in his name to the National Kidney Foundation, Hawaii.
