JAMES Age 50, of Wahiawa, Hawaii, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2017, at Pali Momi Medical Center. He was born in Waimea, Kauai on January 25, 1967, grew up in Mililani, and graduated from Kamehameha Schools in 1985. He was preceded in death by his mother, Consuella "Connie" Bermodez. He is survived by his father Jamie; his wife Malia; his sister Moana (Raymond) Callejo; his brother Chauncy (Jennifer); two stepdaughters, Dawn (Frank) Browne of Virginia and Tarah Baguio of Idaho; stepson Kawika Baguio, a U.S. Navy sailor currently stationed in Kanagawa, Japan; a grand- daughter; a niece; 6 nephews; and many uncles, aunties, and cousins. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, May 28 at the Mauka Chapel of Mililani Memorial Park. Visitation begins at 5 pm to be followed by service at 6 pm. Refreshments will be provided and dinner served in the hall following service.

Mary came to Hawaii in 1959 and fell in love with Waimanalo where the family's first home was located. Star of the Sea Class of '67. Worked for many years at Aloha Catering-Beniya Shokudo. Treasured family historian. A gentle soul with a razor sharp wit which led to a lot of laughter. In Mary's honor, listen to music, sing loudly, love Hawaii, and make someone's day brighter. DOT SHIGEMURADecember 2, 1959 - May 3, 2017 Dorothy "Dot" Babson Shigemura passed away peacefully at home on May 3, 2017 with family at her side. Dot was born in Bad Tolz, Germany to Richard Kim and Catharine Rikert, the fifth of eight children. Her father's military career enabled Dot to grow up in diverse locations such as Okinawa, Alabama, Virginia. The family came to Hawaii in 1977, where Dot graduated from Baldwin High School and the University of Hawaii, with a degree in Business. It was at the University that she met the love of her life and devoted husband of 30 years, Kelvin Shigemura. Dot worked as a financial analyst with the Shidler Group and as a housing specialist with the Hawaii Community Development Corporation (HCDA). She then established her own company, the Hawaii Community Reinvestment Corporation (HCRC), to provide innovative financial and consulting services to public and private organizations who engage in building livable and affordable communities in Hawaii. Dot cherished her role as mother to Schuyler and Drake and was always involved in their school and sporting activities. She was also a staunch and loyal UH Warrior Football fan. Dot was a tireless volunteer, giving selflessly of her time and talents to St. Nicholas Church and the Hawaii Episcopal Diocese, Hanahauoli School as well as other organizations. She was also instrumental in establishing RESOLVE, a national infertility organization, in Hawaii. Dot will be sorely missed by her family and friends but she leaves a legacy of compassion, strength, kindness, determination and generosity. She was always putting others before herself. She had a smile that lifted the spirits of everyone around her. In addition to husband Kelvin and sons Schuyler and Drake, Dot is survived by father, Reverend Richard and Helen (stepmom) Kim of Grosse Pointe, MI, brothers Carroll (Corinne) of Maui, HI, Matthew (Kristy) of Gill, MA, and Peter of Greenfield, MA. She is also survived by sisters Theresa (Matthew) Clay of Springfield, TN, Margaret (Peter) Persico of Schenectady, NY, Camilla (Seth) Hoffsommer of Millers Falls, MA , sister in law, Judy Kim of Maui, HI, and several nieces and nephews in Hawaii, Massachusetts, New York, Tennessee, Virginia, and Texas. Dot was preceded in death by mother, Catharine Rikert and brother Richard. A memorial will be held for Dot on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at St. Andrew's Cathedral, 229 Queen Emma Square (Intersection of Beretania/Alakea Street); 5:30p.m. Visitation, 6:30p.m. Services. The family requests that no flowers be offered. Donations will be made to Dot's favorite charities. Aloha Attire is recommended.

WENDELL CHANGOn May 11, 2017, Wendell Moon Kwai Chang went peacefully home to the Lord. The loving care of the staff and volunteers of the St. Francis Hospice will always be heartfelt. In February, he returned to Honolulu after working 2 years at MCAS Iwakuni, NAVFAC Japan. He also worked as a Civil Engineer, UCC Minister, General Contractor, and a Construction Manager at NAVFAC Hawaii. During his 70 years of life, his joy came from doing "Kingdom work", serving in leadership roles at various churches. He will be remembered as a faithful servant, loving husband and father, caring brother, and a special "Uncle" who shared his love of God and fishing. He is survived by his wife Blanche; sons Joshua (Lindsay), Jedd (Michelle) and Joel; brothers Stephen and Lester (Sharon); sister Lynette (Guy) Yamashiro; sister-in-law Jolene Chang; and by the extended family members of the Chang, Lam, and Sayama Ohana. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 27 at the Ko'olau Ballrooms in Kaneohe. Visitation 9am - 10:30 am, followed by service and fellowship. Aloha attire. No flowers.
