Elaine Yasutake Morita71, passed away on January 24, peacefully at her home. She was born on September 13, 1945 in Hilo, Hawaii. She was a retired Physical Therapy aide at Mahelona Hospital. She was preceded in death by her father, Atsushi Yasutake; mother, Misao Yasutake; and brother, Kenneth Yasutake. She is survived by her husband, Roy Morita of Wailua Houselots; daughter, Cheryl Morita of Wailua Houselots; son, Ken (Aaron) Morita of Honolulu; brothers, Donald (Annette) Yasutake of Waipio, Leslie (Carol) Yasutake of Wailua Homesteads and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Elaine is also survived by her loving and faithful companions, Mele and Brownie. Memorial services will be held on Saturday February 25 at Garden Island Mortuary in Lawai. Visitation with the family is at 10 a.m. with services at 11 a.m. The family suggests casual attire and lei will be welcomed.

Dorothy May Garliepp87, of Honolulu, passed away January 19, 2017 in Sparks, Nevada. Dorothy was born October 2, 1929 in Fall River, Massachusetts to John Hackett and Mary Hayes Hackett. She and her husband David Garliepp moved to California in the 1960's and operated a number of bars and lounges in the San Francisco bay area that were very popular at the time. It was during this time that Dorothy attained her pilots license and enjoyed her association with other women pilots through The Bay Cities Chapter, Ninety-Nines. Dave and Dorothy eventually relocated to the Hawaii Kai area of Honolulu where they were members of the Hawaii Kai Yacht Club. Dorothy eventually became the owner of an antique- collectables shop in Kailua named "The Hunter" and she thoroughly enjoyed traveling the world acquiring items for her store. She was preceded in death by her husband David Garliepp, her treasured son, William Gibson Garliepp, and her sister Elizabeth Paiva. She is survived by her sister Mary Frances Simons of South Lake Tahoe, California, and her brother John Hackett of North Carolina. The three of them enjoyed traveling back to Ireland to visit the country of their family. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly. The family would also like to thank the entire staff of The Arbors Memory Care Community in Sparks, Nevada for the excellent care she received and for recognizing the spark Dottie had and deeming her a "favorite". A viewing will take place Friday, Feb 24 at 12:30pm at The Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary in Kaneohe followed by a gravesite service at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery also in Kaneohe. Friends are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dorothy's name are welcome at the Food Bank of Hawaii or to Goodwill Industries.

Everett was born in Munich, Germany on November 23, 1963 to his loving parents, Dolores McDaniel and the late Everett S. McDaniel, Sr. Everett is survived by his wife and best friend, Kelly Trosper McDaniel, son, Everett Spencer McDaniel, III, daughter, Shelby LynLee McDaniel, mother, Dolores McDaniel, sister, Dina Davis, and brother, Michael McDaniel. Everett was deeply loved and will be forever missed by a host of family members, wonderful friends, colleagues and business clients. Everett was a very special one-of-a-kind guy with a larger than life personality. He had an infectious laugh and a fun and aggravating sense of humor. He was extremely generous with his laughter, love and opinion. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, son, brother, and family was always his first priority. Everett earned a degree in Finance from the University of Kentucky. Everett moved to Hawaii in 1989 and found his true home. From 1989-1996, Everett held various positions within Bishop Trust Co. and Hawaiian Trust Co., rising to the position of Employee Benefit Trust Officer. In 1996, Everett became a founding member and principal of PGR Advisors Hawaii, a SEC Registered Investment Advisor. By 2008, PGR, by then renamed Pacific Islands Financial Management (PIFM), had grown to become one of the largest independent Registered Investment Advisors in Hawaii. In 2008, Central Pacific Bank acquired PIFM, and Everett became Senior Vice President, Institutional & Retirement Plan Services. Everett left CPB in 2012 to become a principal with Investment Management Hawaii, a Honolulu-based SEC Registered Investment Advisor serving Retirement Plans and Private Clients in Hawaii, California, Oregon, Nevada, and New Mexico. Everett's favorite things were golfing, basketball and snowboarding. He loved to golf with his best buddies, friends and clients. He loved his annual snowboarding trips to Colorado or Whistler with his family and close friends. He loved to watch, coach and cheer on Spencer, Shelby and their sports teams. Some of his best times and closest friends were made through the years with their sports activities. A Celebration of Everett's Life and Love will be held April 1st at Na Pali Haweo Park, Kamehame Drive, Hawaii Kai at 2pm.

GORDON HIDETO ITO72, passed away on February 3, 2017, but not without leaving an indelible mark in Hawaii's healthcare community. After a successful career in commercial lending for a local financial institution, Gordon made a major career shift and co-founded Oahu Care Facility in 1986, followed by Pearl City Nursing Home in 1995, and Community Case Management Corp. in 2001. Kulana Malama, Hawaii's first stand-alone long-term care facility for medically fragile children, opened in 2007. In 2009, Gordon acquired Kokua Nurses, and in 2014, he added Malama Adult Day Care to what is now the Ito Healthcare Group. Gordon and his wife, June, established the Gordon and June Ito Foundation in 2009 to provide annual scholarships for undergraduate nursing students and graduate social work students. He will be missed by his wife June, his three children: daughter Maedene Wakabayashi and son-in-law Lyle, his son Randall, daughter Robyn McKinney and her husband Chris, and two grandchildren, Ty and Tess Wakabayashi. Services for Gordon Ito are scheduled at Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary on Monday, February 27, at 4:30 pm. Visitation will be at 3:30 pm.
