Ruby Fumie Jitchaku93, of Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 in Palolo. She was born in Hilo, Hawaii on January 20, 1924. Shortly after, her family moved to Waialae Ranch where she was raised, and later met her husband, the late Charles T. Jitchaku. Ruby worked as a waitress at the Central YMCA Coffee Shop for over 25 years, and was also a member of Chatan-Kadena Chojin Kai. She is survived by her sons, Gary Jitchaku (Laura Ajimine) and Allen (Chun Ja) Jitchaku; daughters Carol (Herbert) Kamehaiku, and Sharon (Ronald) Tomasa; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great- grandchildren. Her funeral service will be held at the Hosoi Garden Mortuary on Saturday February 25. Visitation will be at 3 pm, and service at 4 pm. Arrangements Provided By: HOSOI GARDEN MORTUARY

Violet Kiko SantiagoViolet Kiko Santiago, aged 95, passed away on Jan 19, 2017. Born, January 9, 1922, in Honolulu, she was the last living child of 22 children born to Joseph and Mary Kiko. She is survived by adopted sister Vera Kiko Rice. She loved to host and cook for family events be they for 10 or for 1000. Her kitchen became the heart of her family's gatherings. Violet was the Luna that everyone loved and respected. She brought her family together to work with one another, enjoy each other's company, and love one another for over seven decades. The love of her life, Joseph Santiago, passed on December 2, 2011. They were married on October 21, 1939. It's Violet's turn to take a little for herself, to be with the love of her life once again. Violet is survived by children Lehua Carpentier (Richard), Henry Santiago (Gloria), Julie Oba (Randy), and Keao Santiago (Joy). Grandchildren, Keola Carpentier (Shar) and Keala Carpentier (Jennifer). Great grand children Makanamailani, Lehualani, and Logan Carpentier. Services will be held at the First Pentecostal Full Gospel Assembly in Kalihi at 1159 Gulick Ave: Friday, February 24. Robert James MalaluanRobert James Malaluan, affectionately known to friends and family as "Bobby", passed away on November 28, 2016 at the age of 65 with his loving wife at his side and under the care of hospice. During his relatively short battle with cancer he remained courageous and optimistic, forever putting the needs and well-being of others before his, a true reflection of his life's path. Bobby was born in Honolulu on December 21, 1950, and was predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Margaret. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Cindy, Brother Alfred Jr. (Charlene), Sister Jean, and a number of nephews and nieces, here in Hawaii and on the mainland. "Bobby, we love you and will forever miss your infectious smile, mischievous antics, generosity, and warm and caring heart."
