JOSEPH KANALUA TRAVIS, JR. Age 80, passed away on November 2, 2015 in his home with loved ones by his side. Born in Haina, Hawaii, on August 29, 1935 to goodly parents Joseph Kanalua, Sr. and Louise Kahana Travis (both deceased). Graduated from The Kamehameha Schools - Kapalama Campus in 1953. For many years he served as President of the Class where he oversaw many monthly class luncheons, reunions that were on the islands, mainland and even into Canada. A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Kailua/Makiki/ Waikahe Wards). He was also very active with the Boy Scouts of America and earned his Wood badge and Silver Beaver Awards. Joe is survived by his wife, Iris Marlene of 30 years and her 3 children, Lee Tasaki (Evleen); Guy Tasaki (Karrie) and Michelle Tasaki Watson (Robert). Joe was first married to Chiquita (deceased) and they had 6 children: Joelyn Travis Hovey (Scott); Darrell (Lehua); Karl (Kyra); Stephen (Tony); Eugene (Rochelle) and Joseph III (Corrina). He is also survived by 27 grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren. Joseph retired after 50 years with PAMCAH UA LOCAL 675 and 49 1/2 years with HONEYWELL, INT'l as Branch Manager in 2008. After 25 years living in Makiki, he and his wife retired in HPP, Kea'au. Arrange- ments by Ballard Family Mortuary (Hilo) & Borthwick Mortuary (Honolulu). No services will be held in Hilo. Services will be held up on the Kapalama Campus of The Kamehameha Schools Chapel on Saturday, November 28, 2015. Visitation at 10:00am, service at 11:00am, 2:00pm interment to occur at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetary, Plot 65 B2 (45-425 Kamehameha Highway, Kaneohe, HI 96744). Aloha attire.

Pearce of Kailua, Hawaii and graduated from Kailua High School with the Class of 1985. Christina had the great joy of spending twenty-two years of togetherness and twelve years of marriage with the love of her life, husband Dwayne Hironaka. A lover of people, Christina worked as a hostess for Denny's in Kapolei where her beautiful smile greeted many customers for the past few years. Christina loved vacationing in Las Vegas and had an immeasurable love for life and her family. She will forever be remembered for her generosity and kind heart, but mostly for the love and compassion she had for animals, especially her boys, Reno, Hercules, Chewy, Apollo, Kain, Sergeant, and Maximus. Christina is survived by her husband, Dwayne and her step-children, Corie Li, Layne, and Nicole; mother, Nancy Pearce of Kailua, Hawaii; siblings, Debbie Silva, Lisa Wolf of Roseville, California, Max Pearce, Jeffery "Scott" Pearce, Brian Pearce, and Clyde Pearce; several in-laws; sixteen nieces and nephews; thirteen great-nieces and nephews; and three grandchildren. Christina is preceded by her father, Max L. Pearce. Christina's celebration of life service will be held on November 14, 2015 from 3pm-7pm at Oahu Mortuary, 2162 Nuuanu Ave, Honolulu, HI 96817. Aloha/casual attire is requested.
