Mary Ku'ulei Kaohi93, of Honolulu, died November 6, 2019 at Hale Nani. She was born in He'eia, June 5, 1926 to Benjamin Kaohi and Clara McCabe. She is survived by nephew, Andrew Toledo, grand-nieces and nephews, Andrea Gushiken, Kristin Smith, Brooke, Kea and Makana Toledo, cousins and many other nieces and nephews. She was a proud graduate of Sacred Hearts Academy, class of 1944. She worked at Mutual Telephone (Hawaiian Tel) as an operator and later, with the credit union. She also worked at Halekulani Hotel, St. Augustine and St. Patrick Church. Aunty Mary had many talents, including singing in a trio, painting and cooking the best Hawaiian food! Aunty was an outgoing, feisty and strong-willed spirit who always selflessly did so much for her family and friends. ELEANOR MEE YUNG MUN YUEN9/27/30 10/13/19 89, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 13, 2019. Born during the Great Depression in Honolulu, Territory of Hawaii on 9/27/30 to Fook Mun and Nalice Chow Mun. She was the 4th child of 7 children. She attended St Andrew's Priory where she graduated in 1949. She married Wallace Chew Mung Yuen on her 22nd birthday in 1952. Eleanor was an energetic, fun-loving, caring and thoughtful person to everyone. She loved to cook and care for her family and friendsit was her passion! After the birth of her first 2 children, Eleanor found employment as a Clerk Typist in the System Operation Division at HECO. She continued there for over 31 years until her retirement at age 57 in 1987. She and Wally loved to golf and travelespecially during their retirement years. Eleanor is predeceased by Wally (7/9/15) and her siblings Melvin Mun, Lawrence Mun, and Bertha Chu. She is survived by her siblings Kenneth Mun, Milton Mun, and Jeanette Young; 3 children--Leonard (Maureen), Bernard (Chicky), and Leona; 6 grandchildren--Ethan (Nikki), Jared, Isaac, Merry (Delvin), Jonah, and Caleb; 8 great- grandchildren--Naia, Maekaiah, Jeshaiah, Zekariah, Nehemaiah, D'Zaiah, Zayliah, and Noelle. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, 11/27/19 at the Borthwick Mortuary Maunakea Chapel. Visitation at 10am; Service at 11am; Inurnment 2pm at Diamond Head Cemetery. Casual Attire.

In retirement, he dabbled in Tai Chi and exercise classes before becoming an avid and expert Pokemon Go player raiding with the Ewa Raiders. JOHN PATRICK FOLEYMay 21, 1930 ~ November 5, 2019 "Jack" Foley (89) joined his wife "Winnie" on November 5, 2019, passing peacefully at home in Honolulu, Hawaii, surrounded by his children. A staunch New Yorker born in Manhattan of immigrant parents, he served in the United States Air Force in Massachusetts, Hawaii, California, Germany and deployed to Guam for operation "Rolling Thunder" during Viet Nam, retiring in 1975. He had a second career as Admissions Director at a women's university in Massachusetts retiring in 1995. Always in service, he volunteered for Meals on Wheels, as a passenger service agent at Westover AFB and at the Pacific Air Museum, Pearl Harbor, as a founding volunteer, docent historian and ambassador. He leaves behind son Wayne, daughter-in-law Denise and grandchildren, Deidre and Evan; daughter Patty, son-in-law Peter and granddaughters, Alissa and Nicole; daughter Kathy; sister Fran and brother-in-law Larry; and brother-in-law Tex. Jack was a loving husband, dad, "papa", brother and uncle and will be fondly remembered for his strong opinions, zest for world travel and for keeping family connected, no matter the distance. Eugene Norman Kam Hoi Luster58, of San Diego, CA joined his sister, Deanna in heaven on 9 May 2019. He was born at the United States Air Force Hospital, Tachikawa Air Base, Japan on 21 January 1961 to Arlene Leong and Gilbert Luster. He grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii and graduated from St. Louis High School in 1979. After attending the University of Hawaii, he moved to California where he held several jobs in computer science technology. His aspirations to become a Future Technologist stemmed from his work for the Dept of Defense where his last job was with R2AD, LLC for eight years. He also worked at DISA where he influenced cloud standardization of NIST and DOD. He had extensive experience as a Systems Engineer, Software Engineer, Systems Administrator, Project Leader, and Instructor. Eugene was known as the Dungeon Master Extraordinaire as he loved playing strategy and computer games especially Dungeons and Dragons (D&D). He spent many years creating games and conducting strategy game workshops in Hawaii and volunteering at Comicon in San Diego running board and D&D games from 1997-2003. He is survived by his wife, Agnes Luster of San Diego and mother, Dr. Arlene Luster (Hanusey), Aunts: Linda (James) Kobatake and Kathleen Leong; Cousins: Paula (Keith), Stuart (Stacy), Skylar, Sierra, Reyna (Neil) and Marla Nakata. He was predeceased by his father, Gilbert Norman Luster and sister, Deanna Mee Yee Luster. On 18 May 2019, a gaming event was observed in his honor at his home in San Diego, CA. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Mystical Rose Chapel, St Louis/Chaminade Campus in Honolulu on Saturday, 30 November 2019. Visitation at 9 am, Eulogies 9:30 am, and Mass at 10 am. A celebration of Donald Grayson Klim's life will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at the Honbushin International Center, 95-030 Waihonu Street, Mililani, Hawaii from 12 pm - 5pm. Casual/Aloha attire (note: footwear to be removed before entering hall). Donald was born on September 25, 1932 in Bristol, Connecticut to William Klim Sr. and Bertha Grayson Klim. He was a 1951 graduate of Bristol High School and attended the Teachers College of Connecticut, (currently known as Central Connecticut State College) earning his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1955. He taught chemistry at Greenwich High School; also completed graduate level study in chemistry, education, mathematics and physics at Cornell University. He received a Master's Degree in Chemistry from the University of New Hampshire and a second Master's Degree in Oceanography from the University of Hawaii. He was a dedicated Oceanography instructor at Leeward Community College for 32 years. He loved Hawaii and the ocean and worked tirelessly to instill that same love in his students. He retired in 1999 and enjoyed life together with his wife Blanche of 41 years until his death at age 87 on October 10, 2019 at home in Makakilo. Donald is survived by Blanche Klim, retired Leeward Community College Graphic Artist, an older brother, William Klim Jr. (Anne) of Rifle Colorado, and preceding him in death, a younger brother Martin Klim (Patricia) of Auburndale, Florida.

JOAN TRUEBLOOD86, of Honolulu passed away Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Straub Hospital after a brief illness. Joan was born February 22, 1933 in Gordon, Nebraska. She grew up on the family cattle ranch outside of town during the Depression. Active in chorus, pep and drama clubs Joan graduated from Gordon High School in 1949. Joan attended San Diego State College and graduated in 1953 with a BA in Business Administration. She was a sister of Delta Zeta sorority becoming its President and "The 1953 Dream Girl of The Year." Her love of fashion and clothing may have started here as she often modeled at sorority service events. During a vacation to Honolulu in the late 1950s Joan made the decision to stay. In 1959 she became Bill Saunders' legal secretary. This began Joan's lifelong career with the Saunders, their multitude of businesses and employees. Over the years she filled many roles for the Saunders business interests to include being Corporate Secretary of National Golf Courses Inc. and nearly thirty years working with Aston Hotel and Resorts and its affiliate Hotel Corporation of the Pacific. Her career with the Saunders lasted uninterrupted for sixty years. Joan loved to travel, especially with her companion George Nelson. After his death, Joan was lovingly "adopted" into the families of his children, Gregg Nelson and Sheri Krom. Watching her hanai grandchildren Nick, Kara and Chris grow up was a special joy for her. San Francisco became her second home with many friends and family members visiting her Nob Hill condo. While on the West Coast Joan enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews often sharing family holidays together. She is preceded in death by her father Jesse Trueblood Jr, mother Bonnie Lucille Cochran Trueblood, sister Betty Trueblood Englander Shepard, companion George Nelson, nephew Lawrence Englander and grandnephew Alexander Englander. She is survived by her hanai family: Gregg Nelson (Coreen) and his children Kara Nelson Paul (Daniel) and Christopher Nelson as well as Sheryl Nelson Krom and her son Nicholas Krom (Ashley); nephews Kenneth Shepard (Joan) and Daniel P. Shepard, niece-in-law Heidi Englander, grandnephews Daniel J. Shepard (Vanessa) and Micah Shepard and grandniece Jolyne Shepard (Nicholas). A private memorial was held at the Outrigger Club in Waikiki where Joan was a member for fifty two years. Her ashes will be scattered at sea off the club.
