Graduate of Waianae High School 1967, studied nursing at University of Hawaii, served in the Army 1968 to 1971, Vietnam Veteran. George lived in Las Vegas, Nevada for over 30 years before moving to Addison, Texas. George so loved Hawaii and would visit his family in Waianae, Hawaii often. In his honor, the family will be having a "Celebration of Life" on June 17, 2018 Sunday, at Maili Beach Park, 3:00pm to 6:30pm.

Carroll her husband of 25 years, her sons Bari (Rebecca) Carroll and Adrian (Holly) Carroll, grandchildren Leo, Bella, Avery and Hayden. Father Susumu Nakasone, mother (predeceased) Doris Sueko Nakasone, brother Howard Nakasone, sister Pearl (Blaine) Oyama, niece Kira Oyama and nephew Logan Oyama. Eunice was born on Maui and worked at Nippon Golden Network for about 10 years. After retiring she oversaw the building of the family homes in Honolulu and Bozeman, Montana. In accordance with her wishes, private services were held at Nuuanu Memorial Park and Mortuary. In memory of Robert Morris "Smash" Tatom who passed away at the age of 74 on April 12, 2018 at Gulfport Memorial Hospital in Mississippi. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army and served several tours during the Vietnam war. He attended Kahuku High School in Kahuku, Oahu, Hawaii and Welders school. Preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Tatom and Ellen Kinimaka. He is survived by wife, Doloris Tatom; children: Ilanu Jenean Tatom, Piilani Marcel Tatom Medeiros, Robert Duke Limaloa Tatom, Summer Tatom, Joseph Tatom, and Amanda Tatom Lacaze; 17 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his 10 siblings. Memorial Service will take place on June 3, 2018 at 1:00 pm. His ashes to be scattered at Kalapaki Bay, Nauwiliwili, Kauai, Hi. Casual attire. 91, of Hilo, HI, passed away February 23, 2018 in Vancouver, WA. He was born in Honolulu on March 17, 1926 and raised in Waikane. He graduated from the University of Idaho in mechanical engineering and worked for sugar plantations on the Big Island and Kauai, as well as repairing TVs and other electronics, and equipment sales. He retired as the chief engineer at Maui Electric Company on Molokai. Tom was an active member and trustee of the Parker and Hilo United Methodist Churches, and was on the Board and President of the Volcano Community Association, with Volcano Kumiai and Volcano Community Foundation, and various other community organizations. He was President of the Bito Doshi Kai Okinawan club for ten years and a member of Hui Okinawa. Tom was a kind and generous soul much beloved by family and friends. He is survived by wife Emily (Matsukawa) Ikehara, son Walter (Karen), daughters Laura (Gregory) Ikehara-Martin and April (Kent) Goya, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and brother John (Betty) Ikehara. Visitation 10 am and service 11 am on June 2, 2018, at Parker United Methodist Church. The family requests no Koden.

96, a World War II Army veteran with the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, an optometrist and founder of Ho'opono Low Vision Clinic, passed away on May 8, 2018 at Kahala Nui. He was born in Makawao, Maui. He is survived by sons, Keith (Grace) and Lance (Irene); daughter, Suzanne (Harvey Henderson Jr.) Terada; sister, Hilda Takeyama; and by ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. CLARENCE WAH YEE YOUNG CLARENCE WAH YEE YOUNG Chief Master Sergeant Clarence Wah Yee Young, USAF Retired, 85, passed away peacefully in his sleep in Los Angeles on May 16, 2018 after a long illness. Born on January 31, 1933 in the Territory of Hawaii, he was the youngest and last surviving of 8 children. Clarence enjoyed a successful 28-year career in the U.S. Air Force reaching the highest rank, and soon after became the owner of Territorial Distributors, which he later sold and retired in 1998. Clarence is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bernadette (nee Young), and their children, Clarisse (Charles Shumaker), Patrice (James Mahoney), Jeffrey, Jon (Lyzza), and Julie (Eric Kowalski). Clarence leaves 11 grandchildren, Jordan Young (Erika), Michael Shumaker, Lauren Kowalski, Ian Mahoney, Katharine Shumaker, Kimberly Kowalski, Rachel Mahoney, Amanda Kowalski, and Alayna, Jon Franco, and Francine Young, and great-grandchildren, Jacky, Jason, and Clarence Young. He is also survived by brother- in-law, Allen Young, and sister- in-law, Priscilla Ho (Darryl). A memorial service was held on May 19 at Rice Mortuary in Torrance, CA. On May 30 at Valley of the Temples in Kane'ohe, there will be an open casket viewing at 11:30 a.m., funeral service at 12 p.m., and burial at 1:30 p.m., followed by a luncheon reception at the Won Kee Restaurant at the Cultural Plaza in Chinatown at 3 p.m.

He was a hard worker, who always tried to help everyone. After retiring as Command Master Chief Petty Officer from the Navy after over 26 years, he worked for Lockheed Martin until his retirement. He was an avid waterman and outdoorsman, and a loving father and husband. He is survived by his wife, Young-Ja, and his son, Wayne, who will always miss him. Joseph Born on March 2, 1937 and passed away on May 11, 2018 after a long goodbye with Alzheimer's. He worked as a longshoreman with McCabe, Hamilton, and Renny and later as a machine operator with Matson Terminals. Joseph worked on the waterfront for 42 years. He is the son of Joseph Nalua Kahapea and Margaret Kalahiki. Joseph was raised in Wainaku, Hilo with his younger brothers Earnest, Matthew, and Ricky, and sister Luana Mae (Cordero). Joseph graduated from Hilo High school in 1955 and proudly sang the alma matter until his passing. Following high school, Joseph enlisted in the Army and was stationed in France where he was a paratrooper and formed lasting friendships with soldiers from Hawaii. Following his military service, he returned to Oahu and worked with his father on the waterfront. His family also includes siblings Joseph "Jojo" Kahapea, David Kalama, Peter Pope Kahapea, Nathan Kalama, Stacey Kahapea, Shirley N. Shimaoka, Leina'ala Clifford, and Jonette Hanawahine. Joseph is survived by his wife Margaret Kahapea, daughters Kerri Kahapea and Bonnie Kahapea-Tanner, son in law Halona Tanner, and granddaughters Iolani Kahapea- Aquino, Kaulu Kahapea-Aquino, Kyra Kahapea-Aquino, Kaialea Tanner, and Lehia Tanner. In addition to his wife of 45 years, Sonia Saturnino Garcia, he is survived by his sons, Genard Garcia, Aris Garcia; his daughters, Edonna Garcia Sharpe and Gerona Garcia Douangphouxia; and 9 grandchildren; his brothers, Constante Garcia, Agapito Garcia, Francisco Garcia, Rodolfo Garcia, and sisters; Estrella Redira, Victoria Cristobal and Asuncion Mingming.
