DEAN  FOSTERDean Barker Foster was born in British Columbia on November 13 1936. Dean spent his early years in Vancouver, Canada, although he later became an American Citizen. He was a successful business man who traveled across the United States starting in the 1970s for his firm Black Forest Imports. He lived then in Hollywood, and later was, for a time, the Mayor of Running Springs, California. He retired in 2006. He loved Hawaii, having moved here in 1985, and made Honolulu his lasting home. Although he had traveled the world, he often said "Hawaii is where my heart is." In recent years, he had been a member of Sukyo Mahikari, the Spiritual Practice of the Art of True Light. He passed away at home in Kalihi on the morning of September 13, 2017. We love and miss you Dean!

REGINALD Y. KAMIHARANovember 9, 1942 -November 1, 2017 Reginald Y. Kamihara, 74, joined the Lord on November 1, 2017 peacefully in the loving presence of his family. He is survived by his wife, Sheena; daughter, Nicole Yasuda; son-in-law, Matthew Yasuda; brothers, Franklin and Richard; sister, Joan Oda. Retired from Servco Toyota where he served for 28 years, Reggie, also known as "Porge", spent his time cooking, raising and showing Shiba Inus, watching K-dramas, and traveling to Las Vegas. He will always be remembered for his strength, confidence, and the amazing hard work he did for his family. Services will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at Christ United Methodist Church. Visitation at 10:00 a.m., service at 10:30 a.m. Aloha attire.

Florence L. K. Kong KeeFlorence Lois Keohokamanu Kong Kee passed away on October 7, 2017, at the age of 55. Flo will be lovingly remembered by her parents John and Lei Kong Kee, siblings Mary Kapanui, Theresa (Marshall) Kong Kee Luke, John Jr. (deceased), William, Sam (Candy), nephews Kolomona (Summer) Kapanui, Kamuela (Hoku) Kapanui, nieces Faith, Sage, grandnephews and grandniece. Growing up in Honolulu, Flo attended St. Patrick School and was a 1980 Punahou graduate. For many years she worked in the tourism and service industry sharing Hawaii's culture and Aloha spirit. Inspired by the late U.S. Representative Patsy Mink, Flo was dedicated to making a difference in people's lives at the policy and government level. Her talent for bringing people together led Flo to work for HSTA, the Democratic Party and UPW. At UPW Flo became a strong voice for Hawaii's working class. Her life's work and passion to improve the lives of the members and their families reached far across the state and nation. Flo served her faith community as a founding member of the St. Augustine Gala Dinner. She helped to raise awareness and funds for the museum honoring Hawaii's local Saints Damien and Marianne. Flo's life was full and large just like her love for her ohana, friends and Hawaii. She'll be fondly remembered for sharing the Aloha spirit through her heartfelt conversations, ono cooking and willingness to kokua. A Celebration of Flo's Life will be held at St. Augustine by-the-sea Catholic Church, 130 Ohua Ave in Waikiki on Saturday, November 18, from 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. followed by Mass at 12:00 p.m. Carpooling is highly recommended. Complimentary valet service will be available on Ohua Street with limited parking spaces. Public parking can also be found on nearby streets, the Zoo and Waikiki Shell. Leis and flowers are welcomed. Aloha Attire. Inurnment Services will be held at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery, Hillcrest Garden Section, 45-425 Kamehameha Hwy., Kaneohe on Monday, November 20 at 11:00 a.m.

Yuriko YoshiyamaFebruary 27, 1932 - October 13, 2017 Yuriko Yoshiyama, 85, of Honolulu, passed away on October 13, 2017. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunty and friend. Yuriko grew up in Waipahu, and as a teenager worked beside her mother in the plantation fields. After graduating from Waipahu High School in 1950, she worked at Arakawa General Store, then later as a teller at Bank of Hawaii. She married her husband Albert on August 11, 1962, and took on her most challenging job - raising her three children, Colin, Jon, and Kathleen. Yuriko was a member of Manoa Valley Church and enjoyed water exercise, shopping, and talking story over 4+ hour lunches with family and friends. She always had a smile, hug and words of encouragement for everyone she knew, and always had food on hand to whoever visited the house. She had the gift of conversation and made everyone she met feel comfortable and at ease. She will be remembered for her positive, cheery attitude, caring heart, and strong faith in God. Yuriko's greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren, Luke, Jadynn, Ally, Brooke, Hope, Leina and Casey. She will forever be their guardian angel. Yuriko is predeceased by her parents Kama and Haruko Tsuhako, brother Shige (Betty) Tsuhako, sister Mie (David) Takenaka, and brother Ronald Tsuhako. Yuriko is survived by her husband of 55 years, Albert; children Colin (Chris), Jon (Carol) and Kathleen (Kerstan) Wong; brother Keiji (Amy) Tsuhako, sister Sharlene "Teru" (Michio) Shishido, brother Dennis Tsuhako, sister Helen Tsuhako, brother Ernie (Jeanne Fujioka) Tsuhako and sister-in-law Vicki Tsuhako; 7 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will begin at 9:00am on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Manoa Valley Church, with services to follow at 10:00am. Family requests casual attire. No flowers please. He was born in Erie, PA and proudly served in the USMC during the Korean War and became a Purple Heart and Silver Star recipient. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Virginia; daughters, Donna Camara (Bud), Anna Naeole (Pilama/deceased), Virginia "Bunny" Torralva (Derrick), Brenda Lewis (Clyde Harbottle); sons, Donald Jr (Tootsie), John (deceased), Ronald, Michael, Robert (Danell) and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren. Ginny Chun Serikaku, passed away on September 28, 2017 at EvergreenHealth, Kirkland, Washington. Ginny was born on August 7, 1947 in Wailuku, Maui, to Maj. Richard S. Chun, USARet, and Frances S. Chun (both deceased). She grew up in Maui, Japan, California, and Maryland. She graduated from Glen Burnie High School (Maryland) and the University of Hawaii. Ginny worked for many years at Xerox Hawaii, retiring as the Controller. Ginny is survived by her husband, Al Serikaku, daughters, Dana (Casey) Ching and Michele Serikaku, grandchildren, Cody and Shelby Ching, and brother, Greg (Patsy) Chun. She was also sister to the late Karen Chun Staub. Ginny was cherished by her family and friends and quickly loved by all who knew her. She was well known for her love of the casinos in Las Vegas and Washington, her knowledge and passion for buying and selling diamonds, crafting of all sorts, fishing and especially talking story for hours. Her fun, loving, giving, and determined spirit will be missed, and the good times and laughter shared with her will be cherished by all. The family is so grateful for those who touched Ginny's life and for the love, generosity and support they have received on behalf of Ginny. Private celebrations were held at Central Union Church on Wednesday, October 25, 2017. It was full of family, friends, flowers and of course, fun stories and memories of Ginny. The family also wishes to thank the staff from the KMCWC Cancer Center for their loving care and special friendships formed over the years.

Richard "Dickie" Kwai Duck Hong resided in Kailua and passed away October 5th 2017. Born January 21, 1940 to Sun and Choi Dai Muy Hong. He attended Lanakila Elementary School, Kawananakoa Intermediate, St. Louis HS, Sacramento JC, and Univ. of Hawaii (earning a masters in accounting). Began working at an early age at the Oahu Fish Market and pineapple cannery. After college worked as an auditor, accountant, CPA, then eventually became owner and president of Rosenberg and Hong CPA's. Avid University of Hawaii sports fan and booster. Coached and supported youth athletic leagues in Kailua. He was a professional tailgater and potlucker with expertise on the BBQ. He is and will be dearly missed. Married to Lan Q.G. Hong. Father to Jennifer Milne, Kevin Hong and Neil Hong. Grandfather to Huxley Milne. Brother to John Hong, James Hong, Edward Hong, Shirley Yoshiki, Patricia Okura, Norman Hong, Gordon Hong, and David Hong. Josephine Hatico Cuawas 87 years young when she went on to bigger and better things on Oct. 18, 2017. "Josie" or "Peping", was born on the 25th day of February, 1930 and was a graduate of Farrington High School. In 1952 she married her now late husband, Jose "Joe" Cua. They had four children: Jennifer, Joseph, Jocelyn and Jacquelyn, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She is survived by one brother, Anthony Hatico. Brothers, George, Christopher, Jose, and Don Hatico, and her sister, Dolores Albeso, have all gone before her. A celebration of Josephine's life will be held on Thursday, Nov. 16, at Mililani Mortuary Downtown. Visitation is scheduled for 5:30pm; service begins at 6:30pm. Burial will be at Punchbowl Cemetery the following morning at 10:30am.

Russell Greenwell, 78, of Honokohau, Hawaii, died October 14, 2017 at his residence. Born in Kealakekua, Hawaii in 1939, the son of the late Robert and Alice Greenwell. He was the owner of Honolulu Equipment Company (Kenworth Dealership, State of Hawaii for 17 years), owned and managed the real estate holding company, Robert F. Greenwell Company, LP. A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. November 18, 2017 at Christ Church Episcopal in Kealakekua, Hawaii; reception will follow. He is survived by his wife, Carol Adamson Greenwell of Honokohau; sons, Michael Greenwell of Florida, and Kevin (Christine) Greenwell of Honolulu; daughters, Kimberly (Aaron) Evans of Honokohau, and Lisa (Mark) Hummel of Kaloko; 8 grand- children; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. NATSUKO Nancy, 85 of Honolulu, passed away on Oct. 4, 2017 at Manoa Cottage Kaimuki. She was born in Los Angeles, CA on May 11, 1932. After graduating from McKinley High School, she became a housewife, worked as a seamstress for Playco Hawaii, managed family rental properties and was a loving mother to four daughters. In her spare time she enjoyed watching game shows, making Miyuki flowers and Faberge eggs. Her favorite foods were sweets, especially dream cake, cookies and hot fudge sundaes. She was a devoted wife, Mother and Grandmother who filled our lives with love and words of wisdom. She was sharp as a tack, caring and frank all at once. She is survived by her husband Shigeru, brother Kazu Okamura, daughters Karen (Gary) Fortney, Shirley (Guy) Hirata, Diane (Burt) Suenishi, granddaughter Joni (Adam Cohen) Sasaki, grandson Ryan Sasaki, and great granddaughter Ella Sasaki Cohen. She will forever live on in our hearts with precious memories. Private services will be held. The family requests, please no flowers or monetary gifts.

Lila KawananakoaLila Kawanananakoa, 92 years old, peacefully passed away Saturday, Nov 4th, at her home in Ajijic Mexico. Lila is survived by her sons Edward Kawanananakoa Jr., David Kawananakoa, his wife, Maria Kawananakoa and her grandson Erik Linstrom. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Regina Kawananakoa and her parents, Clarence Whitaker & Mary Lillian De Clark. Lila enjoyed many things, but traveling the world brought her joy throughout her life. She had a passion for helping people in need and rescuing animals. She recently set up a Foundation that will continue to carry on that passion of hers. Funeral services will be performed at the Oahu Cemetery on Monday, Nov 13th at 10 am. Visitation will commence at 9:30 am and the ceremony will be at 10 am followed by the burial and refreshments. Memorial donations may be made to the Lila Kawananakoa Foundation.
