Wilbert Wilbert Castro aka "Sonny" by friends and family, 84, passed away on February 1, 2017 at home in Kailua, Hawaii. He was a 3rd generation Kamaaina and the youngest son of Manuel and Gussie Castro. After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Army, he became a lagger and pipefitter at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard. He worked his way up to a leadership role and retired as a Foreman for Shop 56. Always one not to keep still, he eventually retired as a plumber from the Honolulu Board of Water Supply. Sonny is survived by his wife of almost 64 years, Winona Sai Lin Castro, children Wilbert Castro Jr. (Pixie), Wayne Castro (Suzanne), Wanette Feguis (Ray), Wendell Castro (Katherine), Warren Castro, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Visitation 9:30 am & Service 10:30 am at Borthwick Mortuary - Makai Chapel on Friday, March 3, 2017. Burial at 1:00 pm at Hawaii Memorial Veteran's Cemetery.

She is predeceased by her loving husband Kenneth S. Yano; survived by sons Wayne (Healani) and Dean (Michelle); daughters Sharon (Jeff) Mertel, Karen (Arnold) Morgado and Lori Yano; brother Robert Sato; sisters Nora Shimabuku, Blanche Upchurch and Jackie Forde; nine grand- children and eight great-grand- children. FLORENCE MEW CHUN WONG CHEEFlorence Mew Chun Wong Chee, 93, born in Hanalei, Kauai on October 8, 1923, the seventh child born to Kam Wong and Ngee Yee Say Wong passed away on January 20, 2017. Moving to Honolulu in 1934, settling in Kalihi, she graduated from Farrington High School. She met Benjamin Chee and they were married on March 20, 1948 at the Church of the Crossroads. Retiring from the FAA in 1980 she enjoyed a long retirement life, with the last few years at the Hawaii Kai Retirement Community. Crafts, pottery, sewing, knitting, and crocheting were her passion. Known for her wreaths made from dry local flora, she participated in many craft fairs. Travel was also prominent as she visited cities from coast to coast plus China, Hong Kong and Bangkok. Los Angeles, San Francisco and of course, Las Vegas were her favorite destinations. She was a member of the Waiokeola Congregational Church and See Dai Doo and Duck Doo Societies. Florence is survived by sons Randall and Byron (Kathryn) of Los Angeles; daughter Rhonda (Pierre) Atlan of Las Vegas; granddaughter Jordan; sister Clara Wong Yee of Los Angeles, and many loving nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held on March 1st, at Diamond Head Mortuary Chapel. Visitation 10 am, Service at 11:30 am, burial to follow. Casual attire, leis welcomed.

Age 62, passed away on February 12, 2017 in Honolulu. He was born in Tamuning, Guam on August 4, 1954. Graduated from McKinley High School in 1972. He was on the wrestling and football team. He recently retired from HMSA, working tirelessly for 24 years. Terry was a loving and devoted husband. He was also a very loving father to his children and so proud of what they have accomplished in their lives. He will be forever missed by family, co-workers and friends. He was generous, helpful, caring, a good listener, loved to tell jokes and smiled with a twinkle in his eye. He is survived by his wife Pamela Shiroma, sons Ian-Michael (Kyoko) Shiroma, Van-Michael Shiroma; daughter Shawna-Leigh (Col) Shiroma-Jones; grandchildren Kai Shiroma and Sanoe Jones; stepsons Daniel Botelho, Bryce Botelho, Jonah Botelho and Devin-Scott (Deb) Botelho. Dana lived and worked in Honolulu for most of his life, becoming renowned for his activism in protest of the Vietnam war.
