He loved Waikiki beach and started surfing when he was six and continued into his 80's. He lived most of his life in the Diamond Head area near the ocean. He graduated from Roosevelt High School, attended the University of Hawaii and was an avid UH football fan. He was a combat veteran of World War II. After the war he lived in Paris for a year and was in charge of security for the U.S ambassador. He was a devoted husband and father and will truly be missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Rose Wong Wehr, his son Wayne Wehr, his daughter Wanda Wehr, his daughter Wendy Petersen, son in law Pete Petersen, grandson William Allen Glisson and his two dogs Lily and Sammy. She was the only child of Alfred Fo Char and Wattie Rhoda Kahaialiikapu Holt. She attended St. Andrew's Priory until 11 th grade and graduated from Farrington High School. After graduation, she attended and graduated from Kapi'olani Technical School. She worked in Sears gift wrapping before working as a Service Associate at Sears Service Center on Pa'a Street for more than 30 years. She was a beautiful hula dancer and loved everything Hawaiian especially traditional Hawaiian music. She had numerous friends among Hawaiian musicians and entertainers and help support the efforts of many halau hula. Her thoughtfulness and generosity were an integral part of her upbringing and personality. Those who knew and loved her share in this tremendous loss. She is survived by her husband, Franklin M. Palani Olson; numerous cousins, and brothers-and sisters-in-law. Services at Borthwick Mortuary Mauna Kea Chapel on Saturday, September 17 from 9AM. Aloha attire.

$nameROBERT BOB PAUL FREITAS, SR. Robert Paul Freitas, Sr., a resident of Kaneohe, Hawaii passed away Friday, August 5, 2016; born in Honolulu, Hawaii on December 4, 1929. Bob graduated from Kaimuki High School in 1949.During this time, Bob was the band leader and trumpet player of "Bones & the Skeletons" and headed up the team squad for the Kaimuki Cheerleaders. He was the Owner and President of Robert P. Freitas Enterprises, Inc., dba Construction Materials in Honolulu since 1971. After serving his country for 28 years, Bob retired from the Air National Guard as Sergeant First Class (E7) in December 1989. He was the "King of Poker" for many years and known for telling jokes. He was a member of Hope Chapel's Time Setters. Bob is preceded by his wife, Florence Freitas of 56 years and son Robert Freitas, Jr. He is survived by his sister, Pearl Jackson, sons Rockland "Rocky" Freitas, Troy Freitas, Steven "Kuni" Freitas, Ryan Gilla and Lyle Freitas, daughter Olympia Freitas, and four grandchildren, Rockland Freitas, Jr., Dezmond Gilla, Brittany Sekiya and Mikaela Freitas. Service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Valley of the Temples Chapel. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Service to begin at 10:30 a.m., with burial to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park.

$nameJOE CARROLL TACKER Joe Carroll Tacker died on August 27th, 2016 after a short illness at the age of 91. Joe and his wife, Marilyn had been residents of the Monterey area since 1979 living in Carmel, Carmel Valley, New Monterey and Skyline Forest, all California. Joe was an active member and former president of Toastmasters Club 2032 at the Naval Postgraduate School, a retired Lieutenant Commander, Naval Aviator, US Navy and retired Captain with Hawaiian Airlines. He was particularly proud of his service as Foreman of the 1999 Monterey Grand Jury. A tuba player since the age of 14 he played in various bands and ensembles locally and in Hawaii. He enjoyed his teaching of low brass at the Prunedale Cristian Academy. Some of his private students made him very proud. Joe was born in Corinth, Mississippi and after graduating from High School in 1942 went to work for Glenn L. Martin Aircraft Co. in Baltimore, MD. He joined the Navy in 1943 and served as assistant navigator and helmsman on the highly decorated U.S.S. Buchanan, DDF484. The day the war was over his orders for flight training arrived. Upon completion he was commissioned as a Naval Aviator. During the Korean War he was reactivated where he had the coveted duty of flying various admirals around the country. He continued to serve in the Navy Reserve in Hawaii as the commander of his reserve unit. Joe attended Muhlenberg University in Allentown, PA, the University of Hawaii, and Monterey Peninsula College. In 1957 Joe started judging American Kennel Club dog shows and with the help of his wife and great dog show judges like Derek Rayne he became one of only 20 AKC All Breed judges in 1991. Joe is survived by his wife Marilyn. Marilyn and Joe were married in 1950 in Honolulu. They have two children, Trula of Golden Valley, AZ and Peter of Thousand Oaks, CA and a granddaughter Elise Hegstrom of Boise, ID. A private "Celebration of Life" party will be held at a future date. $namePORTIA YIM ROSEHILL Passed away on April 11, 2016. Born in Honolulu, T.H., on December 9, 1925, to Emma Ai Chang and Sam Whiting Yim, Portia was one of six children. She grew up in Liliha and attended the Kamehameha Schools (Class of 1943), where she met and later married W. Norman Rosehill, Jr. Together, they moved to Kahala, and reared three children; Stefany, Kekaulike and Stacy. After retiring as a civilian employee from the U.S. Army Corp. of Engineers, Portia became an ambassador for Seawind Tours & Travel, Inc. She spent the last 28 years imparting her knowledge, wisdom and passion for travel to everyone she met. She was devoted to her family and friends and proud of their accomplishments and probably best known for her eagerness to share stories of her 90 years with all who would listen. Portia enjoyed entertaining and derived great pleasure in cooking for others. She was a skilled flower arranger and somewhat of a fashionista and she maintained her own sense of style throughout her life. Portia is survived by daughters Stefany Wallach and Stacy Rosehill-Baker, and son Kekaulike Rosehill and his husband, Kevin Kelly; sister, Betty Shodahl; grandchildren, Shelby Schultz, Shawna Wallach and Quinn Baker; and great-grandchildren, Matthew, Elizabeth and Catherine Schultz. Services will be at Central Union Church, Atherton Chapel on Saturday, September 17th. Visitation is at 1:00 p.m. and Services are at 2:00 p.m. Aloha attire is requested. Leis/ loose flowers are welcome and will accompany Portia's cremated remains at a private, ocean ceremony later that day.

$nameWYTHE EDWARD BRADEN Wythe Edward Braden, a resident of Kailua, passed away on August 27 after a sudden illness at the age of 61. Born on February 7, 1955, in Tokyo, Japan, he was the son of William E. Braden and Sonoyo (Matsuda) Braden. He attended the American School in Japan and Konawaena High School before graduating from Choate Rosemary Hall. Following which, he attended Dartmouth College (BA) and the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy (MALD). He worked for J.P. Morgan and Morgan Stanley in New York City and Tokyo as a vice president in the investment banking division. He started his own business, Pacifica Group Inc., based in Hawaii in 1995. He retired in 2015 and was happily pursuing his favorite activities of tennis and woodworking. He loved playing tennis at the Kailua Recreation Center with friends and was also a member of the Kailua Racquet Club. Wythe was known for creating furnishings and household objects from reclaimed wood and was always glad to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors when their projects required his expertise. He is survived by his wife, Marcia (McCrea) Braden, his children from his first marriage, Katherine W. Braden, of Honolulu, and Wythe W. Braden, of Boulder, Colorado, two stepsons, Roarke Clinton, of San Francisco, California, and Connor Clinton, of Washington, DC, his sister Amy Braden (husband Terry, children Whitney, Blake, and Prescott Horn) of Great Neck, New York, his brothers Robert F. Braden, of Honolulu, and William S. Braden (wife Virginia, child Sam Pastore-Braden), of Kaneohe. There will be a private Celebration of Life service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Blood Bank Hawaii or Hospice Hawaii. We will always carry your memory in our hearts.

$nameHARRY M. FUJIWARA Harry Masayoshi Fujiwara, 82 of Jefferson City, Tennessee, formerly of Honolulu, went to be with the Lord on August 28, 2016. He was born on May 4, 1934, and was best known as WWE wrestler "Mr. Fuji." Harry is preceded in death by his parents, Yoshito and Hatsuyo Fujiwara and sister, Isobel Ono. He is survived by children, Tyran Wong, Teri (Peter) Deptula, Tami (Brian) Fujiwara-Nelson, Kimberly Brewster, Toni Well, Kelli (Chris) Fujiwara Sloan and Kevin (Kesha) Fujiwara; thirteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Harry was a 50th State Big Time Wrestler, WWE Hall of Famer and a five time World Tag Team Champion. He will be remembered for his charismatic personality, generous heart and infectious smile. Harry was a true legend and a fiercely loyal friend to many. A celebration of his life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on September 17, 2016, at Punahou School's Thurston Memorial Chapel. WALTER C. J. PANG Walter Chong Jock Pang, 89, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Aug 26, 2016. Born and raised in Honolulu, he served in the U.S. Army before graduating from UH-Manoa. He worked in insurance and real estate sales, as a stockbroker, and in investments. An avid golfer and longtime member of the Mid-Pacific Country Club, Walter was a UH sports fan and watched many sports in person and on TV. He kept up with current events and the financial markets through the newspaper, magazines, TV and the Internet. A president and active board member of the Ling Hou Hing Pang Society, he enjoyed spending time and traveling with his family. Remembered as cheerful and for welcoming family and friends into his home. We will miss his bright and warm smile. Walter is survived by his wife Carol, sons Jayson (Leslie) and Clesson and daughters Colleen Pang-Wong (Max Yoshikawa) and Jeaneen Baggett (David), brother Herbert, and nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Nuuanu Mortuary on Sunday, Sept 18. Visitation at 10:00 a.m., service at 11:00 a.m. (no flowers, no monetary offerings please). Private burial at Punchbowl.
