Akiko “Aki” Nosaka, 93, of Honolulu, a retired employee from the Straub Clinic business office, died in Maunalani Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Los Angeles. She is survived by son Jonathan R.; daughters Patti R. Osebold and Ann N. Kabasawa; brothers George K. and Paul Tamaki; sisters Sachi Kaneshiro, Mary Karatsu and Dorothy Kuwaye; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Celebration of life: 2 p.m. April 3 at the 100th Infantry Battalion Clubhouse, 520 Kamoku St.; parking available at Ala Wai Elementary School.

Gail was born in Honolulu on January 3, 1947 to parents John T.S. and Helen K. Won. She was a graduate of Farrington High School and received her Associates Degree in Accounting from Kapiolani Community College. Gail worked at TransPacific Restaurants Inc., the parent company for Sizzler Steakhouses, Monterey Bay Canners Restaurant, Yum Yum Tree Restaurants, Jolly Roger Restaurants, Jolly Roger Drive Inns and the Waikiki Broiler for close to 30 years as the Accounts Payable Supervisor. She retired from Sizzler Steakhouse Restaurants/Salle Hawaii after TransPacific Restaurants Inc. divested into smaller companies. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend and touched many lives with her gratitude, care, and kindness. She will be greatly missed by her family and those that knew her. She is survived by husband James (Jim) Nishimoto, son; Shane S. (Kathy), daughter; Nicole K. (Roy) Nishimoto Garcia, grandsons; Justin & Lance and granddaughters; Taylor and Natalie. A Celebration of Life will be held at Koolau Ballroom & Convention Center, 45-550 Kionaole Road, Kaneohe on April 9, 2016. Visitation with the family will begin at 10 am followed by a service at 11 am and a reception. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rehab Foundation, Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific or the UH Foundation.

He then entered into a partnership and founded Auto Paint and Supply. After six years in the business, he then joined Sherwin Williams until joining Color Refinishers. Paul finally ended his career retiring from Hi-Line Distributors. He is survived by his wife Margaret, two sons Dayne (Melissa), Ross, sister Geraldine "Sako" Matsumoto, Frances "Pix" (Stephen) Kanayama, Florence (Jerry) Chinen, Doris Nabarro, Eunice Hirata, brother Walter (Marilyn) and five granddaughters. SUSAN CATHERINE STEVENSON 79, died peacefully at her home in Portland, OR on February 11, 2016 after losing her battle with pancreatic cancer. Susan was born in 1937 in Chillicothe, Missouri and came to Hawaii in 1940. She graduated from Punahou School in 1955. She attended the University of Washington where she studied English Literature and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Susan returned to Hawaii in 1961. Susan was an avid horsewoman and a voracious reader who also enjoyed gardening, needlepoint and spending time with her family and friends. Susan is survived by her three children David Seth of Honolulu, HI, Barry Seth (Patty) of Portland, OR and Leslie Niebuhr (Jay) of Kailua, HI, and two grandchildren, Katherine Seth and Anna Seth. Susan requested that no service or memorial be held, but that her and her late husband Douglas' ashes be scattered into the Pacific Ocean. Memorial contributions can be made to the Hawaii Foodbank, 2611 Kilihau St, Honolulu, HI 96819.

For the past 14 years she was the manager for Ark of Safety Bible Bookstore, and served alongside her husband as leaders at Ark of Safety Christian Fellowship. Celebration of Life Services for Nani will be held on Sunday, April 3rd, 5:30-9:00 pm, and Monday, April 4th 9:00-11:30 am at the Ark of Safety Center, 86-120 Farrington Hwy A109-A110, in the Waianae Mall. TB (TOM) LYONS III TB Lyons III of Kailua, HI died on 5/16/16 surrounded by his loving family. TB, age 85, was born & raised in Kapaa, Kauai. A former police officer w/San Jose CA & Honolulu Police Depts, he was an insurance agent with Mutual of Omaha for 53 years (1963-present). He was a life time member of Million Dollar Round Table, Hawaiian Civic Club HNL, Hui Hanai (Liliuokalani Trust), 200 Club, Waikiki Elks, Manager Camp Erdman YMCA (1958-2001), member of State Hwy Safety Council, friends of Iolani Palace, friends of USS Missouri & many more. He was namesake/sponsor of the annual TB Lyons Tennis Classic, Coco Palms Hotel, Kauai (1974-92; largest tournament in HI at the time). TB was a US Navy Veteran/ Korean War. He attended Saint Louis, HNL('42-'45), graduated from Kapaa High, Kauai('48) & San Jose State College(BA '56). He's preceded in death by 1st wife (Marlene 1990) & 1st born son, (Tommy 1992). He's survived by wife, Betsy Lyons. He's also survived by son, Mike Lyons (Kauai), Daughters Barbie Lyons (OR), Suzie Lyons (Kauai), Shari Lyons Grounds (Oahu) as well as 7 grandchildren: Malina, Keale, & Kamanakai Lee, Jarrett & Jami Anderson, Alyssa Lyons & Kala'i Grounds. Celebration of life to be held on Sat, 4/30/16, at 430-D N. Kalaheo Ave, Kailua at 4:30pm. Scattering of ashes at a later date on Na Pali Coast, Kauai (Awa'awa'puhi) where he'll join his 1st wife & son in Eternal rest.

$nameTHOMAS FRANCIS DUFFY (1931 - 2016) Thomas Francis Duffy, formerly of Lilly, Pennsylvania passed away on March 3, 2016, in Annapolis, Maryland. Born August 24, 1931, he was the son of the late Thomas Aloysius and Veronica Bender Duffy. In 1960, he married Hildegarde Mary Lavin, daughter of Dr. John Lavin and Catherine Delehunt of Swoyersville, Pennsylvania. They had four children. Thomas was the loving and devoted father of Deborah Ann Duffy, Timothy Patrick Duffy, Maureen Ann Duffy and Patricia Ann Duffy. Tom was blessed with five grandsons: Casey Duffy, Sean Duffy-Tyler, Cole Soranaka, Luke Kupchinskas and Connor Duffy as well as two granddaughters; Chantel Soranaka and Cassidy Kupchinskas. He was the brother of Frank Duffy, State College, Pennsylvania and Charles Duffy, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was a graduate of Lilly- Washington High School in 1949. A Veteran of the Korean War, he received his Bachelor's Degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1954. He later earned his Masters Degree in Education from Penn State University, and was a candidate for his Doctoral Degree. Mr. Duffy was an educator in the Baltimore County Maryland School District for 38 years, including Director of Driver's Education. Prior to moving to Maryland to teach in the Baltimore County School system, he taught at Chief Logan High School, Lewistown, Pennsylvania. A proud Irish Catholic, he was a lifetime member of the American Legion, Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Boys Town, and supported many other non-profit organizations. Tom went into the Navy Reserve after high school and joined the Army when the Korean War started. After returning from Germany, where he was stationed, he worked at the Bethlehem Steel Mill in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. His interests included attending baseball's spring training camps in Florida and traveling to Hawaii to visit Pearl Harbor and his family in Hawaii Kai. Funeral services were held on March 7, 2016 at Our Lady of the Alleghenies Roman Catholic Church, Lilly, Pennsylvania followed by committal at the St. Brigid's Cemetery. Military rights were provided by the Lilly American Legion and the Lilly Veterans of Foreign Wars.

WILLARD DANA BORLAND Willard "Dana" Borland, formerly of Kaneohe, born December 22, 1928 in Lynn, Massachusetts peacefully passed away on March 10, 2016 in Renton, Washington at the age of 87. Dana, a 22 year veteran of the US Air Force retired in 1969. His primary position was working in the Air Defense Command as a Jet Fighter Interceptor Pilot. Dana is survived by daughters Joyce (Borland) Almodova, Gail (Borland) Anderson, Son in Law Charles Anderson, Grandsons Dana Almodova, Christopher and Sean Gwin, Granddaughters Kirsten (Cameron) Pierce and Laura (Austin) Ulakovich and Great Granddaughter Prudence Pierce, Sisters Claire Doyle and Beverly Moore and countless loving Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, In-Laws and Friends. Predeceased by his loving wife Jean Loring Hall Borland and Sister Eleanor. Services were held in Seattle at The Acacia Memorial Park and Funeral Home. The family requests any donations be made to either St Francis Hospice in Honolulu or Evergreen Hospice in Kirkland, Washington.
