AIKO HONDA SAKAMOTO Age 94, of Honolulu, passed away on February 28, 2016. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired key punch supervisor for the State of Hawaii, Department of Budget and Finance. Preceded in death by her husband, Tadashi, she is survived by her sons, Clyde (Gerrianne), Neil (Lynette) and Keith (Lisa) Sakamoto; daughter, Wendy (Wilfred) Kuniyuki; sister, Betty Genishi; grandchildren, Marisa (Scott) Kesaji, Jeffrey and John Sakamoto. JOHN E. JAY PILON John E "Jay" Pilon, 90, a longtime Honolulu resident, died February 27, 2016 in Palm Desert, Ca. A native of Chicago, Mr. Pilon was the son of the late Viateur L. and Eleanor Perreault Pilon, born on November 17th, 1925. He moved to Peoria with his family in February 1935. Mr. Pilon attended St. Bernard parochial school and graduated from Spalding Institute in 1943. After serving as an Ensign in the United States Navy during World War II, he attended Bradley University, graduating in 1948, earning a degree in Mathematics. Mr. Pilon worked for Caterpillar Tractor Company for 12 years as a District Representative both in Washington DC and California. In 1961, he accepted the position of General Sales Manager at Shepherd Machinery in Los Angeles and was one of the founding members of the Southern California Contractors Association. In 1977, he became President of Pacific Machinery, the Caterpillar dealer in Hawaii and ultimately served as Senior Vice President of Theo H Davies, one of Hawaii's "Big Five" trading and agricultural companies. Mr. Pilon was an active member of the Rotary Club of Honolulu as well as the Oahu Country Club before his retirement in the Palm Springs area of California in 1991. In 1948, he married Cecilia Macdonald, who preceded him in death. In April 1996 he married Mary Lee Potter who survives him. Mr. Pilon is also survived by a daughter: Stephanie Pinney of Rancho Bernardo Ca; sons: John "Mac" Pilon (Trish) of Claremont Ca, Dan Pilon (Jan) of Azusa, Ca and Bob Pilon (Frani) of Claremont, Ca, brother Jerry Pilon (Katie) of Washington, IL; sisters: Annette Maibach, Diane Nowlan (Wayne) and Cecile Langford (Russell), all of Peoria, and Estelle Pilon of Goodyear, AZ; 6 grandchildren Scott Pilon (Amy), Sara Tracy (Russell), Christopher Pinney (Marci) John Pinney (Katie) Sean Pilon, David Pilon (Ashley) as well as 8 great-grandchildren In addition to his first wife and parents, Mr. Pilon was predeceased by brothers, Armand, Bernard, Ronald and Robert Pilon. A celebration of his life will be held on March 17, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Claremont Ca. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association 69-730 Highway 111 Suite 100, Rancho Mirage, Ca. 92270.

He was a Penn State University graduate, class of 1957 and worked on the ENIAC (the first electronic general-purpose computer) and Pennstac (first digital computer). He was a member of the Order of the Arrow and Boy Scott Troop 73 leader, at Parker Methodist Church in Kane'ohe. Joseph worked for the United States Air Force at Hickam/Pacific Air Force (PACAF) as a senior computer systems analyst. He also taught computer-program classes at Chaminade University in Honolulu. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, skiing, sailing, reading and biking. His parents Joseph Mitchell and Jessie Anderson Mitchell preceded Joseph in death. Joseph is survived by his wife, Thanh Trinh Dang of New Hope, MN; sister, Isabel J. Mitchell of Huntingdon Valley, PA; children Gordon (Flavia) Mitchell of Kaiwiki, HI, Samuel M. (Mae) Mitchell of Honolulu, HI, Jessie (Randolph) Mitchell of Mililani, HI; Lucy Mitchell (dog) and former wife Sylvia C. Mitchell of Honolulu, HI. Private services. JENNIE NIP TOM Feb 6, 2016 Jennie Tom, 99, of Honolulu, died at the Aloha Nursing and Rehab Centre in Kaneohe. She retired as a Postal Assistant at the Waipahu Post Office. She is survived by brother Willard (Thelma) Nip, sister-in-law Helen Nip, sons, Vernon (Dale), Bennett (Yong), daughters Andrea (Alvin) Shimokawa, and Marilyn (Chester J) Moy, seven grandchildren, and fifteen great grandchildren. $nameLINDA CHI-YUN LEE, 90 Linda Chi-Yun Lee of Honolulu, Hawaii passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the age of 90. She was born to Shue Chi and Li-Ching Yen on May 6, 1925 in Beijing, China. She lived in Sichuan Chongqing during World War II. After the war, she moved to Nanjing, Shanghai and then to Taiwan. She worked for the Judicial Department there until her marriage to Theodore Tse-Min Lee. Linda was a smart woman with great respect for old traditions. She often had her 8-year-old niece, Lily accompany them when they were dating. Her niece fondly remembers the good treats she received on those dates. Linda was completely devoted to family. After having her 2 sons, Edward and David, she stayed in Taiwan while her husband Theodore went to America to finish his Master's Degree. She also looked after her in-laws while he was away. After 10 years, she joined her husband in California and their family was finally reunited. There, she gave birth to their daughter, May. In 1966, the family moved to Honolulu, Hawaii where Theodore joined the University of Hawaii as a professor of Ocean Engineering. Linda and Theodore were baptized in Hawaii and had an unwavering faith in God. Linda was known for her loving generosity and a living example of the virtue of selflessness. She enjoyed cooking immensely and received rave reviews from all that feasted on her creations. It was her special gift that she shared with many. Linda is predeceased by her husband, Theodore Tse Min Lee. She is survived by her brother James Chi and his wife Mary of Taipei, Taiwan; her sister Shirley Wang and her husband Cheng-Wen of Newport Beach, California; her son, Edward Lee; her son, Dr. David Lee and his wife Shaoling; her daughter, May Anderson and her husband Bob and her grandchildren Eddie Lee and Kimberly Lee. A memorial service will be held March 17, 2016 at Diamond Head Mortuary, 535 18th Avenue, Honolulu. Visitation begins at 10 am with services at 10:45 AM. Burial to follow at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park, 47-200 Kahekili Highway at 2 pm. Casual and aloha attire.
