64, of Kailua, Oahu, passed away at home on May 6, 2017. Born in Franklin, a county of Columbus, Ohio, to Edward and Mary Cooley on September 28, 1952. Edward was raised in Franklin until he enlisted with the US Marine Corp in March of 1971. While stationed in Hawaii, Ed met Clara Babyack and they married in 1983. After 23 years of service in the US Marine Corp, including four expeditions (deployment in Desert Shield), MSGT Edward Cooley retired in 1994. Edward received numerous awards for excellence throughout his career. He continued working for the Civil Service at Marine Corp Base Hawaii until his death. Ed's passions were his family, work, and his puppies, Sandy and Coco. Ed is survived by his wife, Clara; brother, George Cooley; sister, Amanda Gordon; niece, Tanya Jackson; and his Hanai family; Robert (Dew) Babyack, Barbara Babyack, Kathy (Ron) Kualaau; grandchildren; Ty (Alina) Aweau, Kamani (Beau) Kualaau, Melia (Heo) Abbey, Kuulei (Jon) Kualaau, Kapua Kualaau; and eight great grandchildren; Lina & Noah Aweau, Koa, Ilihia, I'ini, & Na'i Abbey, Pelekila Kualaau, and Kona Kualaau.
